About Me

Headline

Hi, I am Ana Marija Vekic, I am a psychologist and an ACT practitioner.
I would like to highlight two things that have significantly influenced my professional and personal growth: encountering ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy) and living and working in Luxembourg.

Reading the book "The Happiness Trap" by Russ Harris introduced me to the world of ACT therapy. It offered answers to questions I didn't even know I had, which led me to pursue further training in that direction. Professionally, ACT broadened my understanding of the human mind and equipped me with effective tools and techniques to help clients deal with their painful experiences. Personally, it helped me clarify my priorities and values during times of major transitions, realize what truly matters to me, and change how I handle everyday worries.

Living in Luxembourg and being part of the expat community there left a special imprint on my life. I soon realized that a lack of support and loneliness are common challenges among expats. The experience of working with expats deeply empowered my work; it enriched my understanding of people's unique life stories, and helped me see the vital importance of social connection, support, and authenticity for overall well-being and quality of life.
